How It Started:
Throughout his time working as a remote session bassist and mix engineer, Arch Echo bassist Joe Calderone became increasingly frustrated with the available options for “in-the-box” bass processing. Most bass amp sims come with some sort of major drawback or limitation and because of that, the usual modern-metal bass processing chain could run 10-15 plugins spread over multiple, duplicated tracks. During the summer of 2023 Joe had a radical idea: Why couldn’t this processing chain be built into one, easy to use plugin? This sent Joe, who before this had never coded a day in his life, on a journey of research.
QuadBass:
Over the next few months, QuadBass would start as a simple single band distortion plugin and gradually grow into the full processing chain available today. Every parameter has been meticulously tweaked by Joe to make for the perfect software bass amp right out of the box.
